Summary

Agatha Christie: The Mystery of the Blue Train

Since time immemorial, precious stones have acted on man like some sort of fatal spell. Murder and violence have always been in the shadows of their glittering glory. It's no different with the famous Ruby Heart of Fire. Soon after it falls into the hands of a beautiful American woman, Ruth Kettering, the jewel's curse takes effect.

Whose arms were around her neck until she lost her breath? Was the jewel a motive for the murder or just a cover for a terrible villain? What game did the beautiful stranger play? These are some of the questions that await answers, as the story continues to reveal how these strange and dramatic events affect the life of a withdrawn girl from England who was convinced that nothing exciting would ever happen to her. These are the very words he will say when he happens to meet a man with an egg-shaped head and an upward-curled mustache immediately after boarding the Blue Train. But not even Hercule Poirot, for he was, could have guessed how quickly he would be called upon to solve the intricate crime once the Blue Train arrived in Nice the next morning and it was discovered that a murder had been committed.
