Summary
Gordana Benić: Palace of Unearthly Dreams
And in Gordana Benić's latest work, Palace of Unearthly Dreams, the second volume of the author's project, as well as in that prom, imaginary travelogue entitled Palace of Trapped Dreams, Diocletian's Palace in her native Split is in the center. "There is no doubt", writes Zvonimir Mrkonjić, "that due to its position between the mainland and the island, Split is determined as a city of passage and transition, of transit and transitoriness. Many more or less important passers-by passed through Split and lived there for a while, such as Tin Ujević. But there were also those in Split, albeit much less, who proved that one should stay in Split and take root, such as the emperor Diocletian, who is in Split vavali concretized his nostalgia for remaining (Slamnig), leaving us an important reason to deal with Split at all. Gordana Benić also belongs to such a poet in a way that few others were, except for Tonči Petrasov Marović, because the Splitness is not so much a descriptive, but above all an internal feature of her writing. with inversions of various elements, characters and content. The new sequences are close to the medium of film, and contain a strong parable, which refers to something magical and otherworldly from the ordinary and banal.
