Summary
Kruno Quien: Poems
Combining in his oeuvre the fundamental poetic determinants of the entire poetic century, from the impressionist-symbolist matrix of A. G. Matoš and his followers, all the way to geometry, abstraction, surrealism, hermeticism and Luddist escapades (from Ujević to Slamnig), Quien is, in terms of a studio observation of modern Croatian literature, especially its contemporary lawyer, still unprocessed and little known poet. And the peculiarities of his geometricism, language games and sound effects are anthological achievements of contemporary Croatian poetry. The openness of Quien's oeuvre to modern interpretations does not lose its topicality and challenge, especially now, when the values and knowledge about the scope of Croatian literature in the last century are trying to organize as much as possible and make a balance sheet of hundred years of energy and dynamism in Croatian poetry.
