Summary
Aleksandar Vučo: Poems and poems
"Over time, Vučo stood out as the only poet among us who chose the diagonal between the horizontal and vertical lines and thus opened an unknown path for our poetry." (Oscar Davicho)
In his confessional-reflexive poetic beginning (Roof over window), Vuč's expression was a variant of typical youthful restlessness, with confidence in image and metaphor. His surrealist development, on the other hand, brought verbal experiments in alliance with strong poetic humor, which culminated in the poems of Nemenikuć and Ćirilo i Metodije, i.e. the poem Humor Zaspalo, that cheeky, burlesque core of his poetic speech and opinion. Post-war Vučo, in the light of Alga, goes to "pre-relative states", where he searches for new connections for old excitements, still "outside the protectorate of reason", with a recognizable crackling sonority and emblematic humor, but which in later songs become a thin hard shell around the given meditation.
