Ivan Berislav Vodopija (1942), Croatist and comparativist, although he devoted his work to bookselling (and is still renowned as one of the greatest connoisseurs of books in the fields of literature and art), he never abandoned writing. His first texts appeared in literary magazines in the 70s, but the work he started doing at that time required mastering a new profession and different skills. Many of his successfully completed projects are known from that time, among which we only single out that, together with Antoaneta Pasinović, he was the initiator of the project for the revival and decoration of Tkalčićeva Street and the now iconic author's window in the August Šeno bookstore in Zvonimirova (which has recently disappeared from the cultural scene in Zagreb along with many other bookstores (such as those in Ilica 7 and 30 and on Preradović Square), all in the interest of private At the end of the 80s, he opened the first private antiquarian and has remained faithful to this work until today. The poems published in this collection are a response to the time we live in, which we recognize in all its "bloody" appearances, but we never surrender our "living heart" to it, which is also confirmed by the author's latest book of lyrical prose
