Summary
Ursula Le Guin: The Left Hand of Darkness
As an emissary of the Ecumene Council, the supreme headquarters that controls the entire Galaxy and includes 83 inhabited planets, a certain Mr. Ai comes to Karhida to offer the Gethen peoples an alliance. Despite the material prosperity and general prosperity they promise, King Argaven is skeptical and rejects this dubious offer. But Ai does not give up so easily... The novel is part of the so-called Hain cycle, a series of works that talk about the distant future and a humanoid primitive race, inhabited in one part of the Galaxy. Just as this famous American writer is considered by many critics within the SF genre to be its "first lady", this novel is also considered one of the capital works of science fiction.
