Summary
Seth MacFarlane: Who survives, will tell
He created the animated series Family Guy and American Dad, and introduced us to Ted. Now, in his debut novel, the celebrated animator, director, actor and top entertainer, Seth MacFarlane, offers us a completely new perspective on the western.
Tame sheep farmer Albert Stark is tired of the hard life in Stari Panj, a town on the American border where apparently anything and everything can happen to a man. Duels exactly at noon. Fights in saloons. Poisonous snakes. Cholera in drinking water. Wind-blown weeds. Something called "toe". Even going to the Polish toilet. Yes, whoever survives the Wild West will talk, and Albert intends to be just that. Some believe that this makes him a coward. Albert thinks it's pure common sense.
Only, when the girl leaves him for the most unbearable guy in town, Albert decides to accept the fight for her - even though he can neither shoot, nor ride, nor throw a punch. Fortunately, he is helped by a beautiful gunslinger with enough toughness for both of them. Unfortunately, she's hiding a dark secret that could end up killing everyone in sight. Albert realizes too late that he might not be the one who will survive to tell what happened.
