Jelčić Andy

Summary

Andy Jelčić: 85,000

*The book is underlined with a ballpoint pen.

The story is, in fact, simple: a young man from Ludbreg, an unsuccessful student who drops out of college in Zagreb and breaks up with his longtime girlfriend, goes to Sulejmanija - the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan - and signs a contract with an American company for which he will work as a truck driver. He sees the one-year earnings of $85,000 as an opportunity to repair his previous failures in life. The novel is ˝carried˝ by four key characters: the main character, two of his co-drivers and a dealer, where sooner or later the soldiers and drivers of the American base end up because he always has "goods" to escape from harsh reality.
