Summary
Aleksandar Tišma: Permitted Games
From the short introductory text that Aleksandar Tišma wrote for the first edition of his plays, the reader can notice that Permitted Games consists of texts that were created sporadically, over a span of over two decades, but that the book was composed in one existentially compact historical moment. Namely, the signature reads: "March 1999". That's how, before the last historical storm that Aleksandar Tišma will experience, whispered his Talia, the muse who had long since left him, and to whom he now returned discreetly, just enough to complete all the genre aspects of his literary oeuvre. The author himself says that the plays offered him "a kind of quick, relieving and relaxing compensation" for all the pains that accompanied the creation of prose works. He wrote a total of six of them, and they "assembled themselves into the book, the following order of creation".
