Međimurje 1941.

Prebeg Darko

Summary

Darko Prebeg: Međimurje 1941.

Detailed research into the life of the inhabitants of Međimurje in Horthy's Hungary from 1941 to 1944 has not been seriously conducted or published in the Croatian professional literature, as well as reconstructions of the lives of the people of Međimurje at that time.

This book chronologically, systematically and in one place presents many hitherto unknown neglected or forgotten facts from the history of Croatian Međimurje during the Hungarian occupation in 1941. The project is a demanding attempt to visualize as vividly as possible various ways, forms, procedures, rules and factors, which significantly influenced the lives of many historically famous and ordinary people from Međimurje from that time, within the gloomy environment of the reality of war, the political and social process of Hungarianization and the occupation of Horthy's Hungary, Hitler's ally and co-signatory of the Triple Pact.
