Summary

Marija Obad-Vučina: The ancient core of the early Christian episcopal center of Pula - traces of the foundation of ancient Pula to the capitol city temple and the construction of the Cathedral of St. Marije

Investigating the circumstances that caused the construction of the Capitol next to the Forum to be interrupted and realized at the location of the Cathedral according to the same project, the research analyzes the development path of Pula from its origin to the acquisition of urban characteristics (paleogenesis) and the title of the book is supplemented with the subtitle Traces of the foundation of ancient Pula to the Capitoline city temple and the construction of the Cathedral of St. Marije.

The interdisciplinary research process presents and comments on a large number of written and graphic materials and results in about seventy final conclusions about the stages of the urban foundation of Pula (pre-urban, proto-urban and urban) and the stages of the transformation of the city's Capitol into a complex of buildings of the ancient Christian episcopal center of Pula.
