Summary
Cora Sandel: Only Alberte
In the final part of the acclaimed trilogy, Alberte, now the lover of the Norwegian artist Sievert, lives in Paris with their young son. And while Sievert enters into a relationship with a certain Swedish painter, Alberte falls in love with Pierre, a writer who has just returned from military service, sympathizing with her creative powers and wavering need to write. After a period of conflict, Sievert and Alberte return to Norway, where her self-realization becomes complete. Subtly and insightfully, Cora Sendel shows the gradual deterioration of relationships against the background of the consequences of the First World War.
